Jackton Odhiambo Found Guilty in the Murder of Edwin Kiptoo, Alias Chiloba

Jackton Odhiambo has been found guilty of murdering Edwin Kiptoo, also known as Chiloba. Eldoret High Court Judge Reuben Nyakundi has scheduled the sentencing for December 16, 2024.

Justice Reuben Nyakundi affirmed that the prosecution successfully proved its case against Odhiambo. The evidence presented included scientific data, direct evidence, and testimonies from witnesses that linked him to the crime.

The judge highlighted that forensic and DNA analyses revealed a close friendship between Odhiambo and Chiloba.

The court concluded that Odhiambo had intentionally caused Chiloba’s death, meeting all legal definitions of murder as outlined in Section 203 of the Penal Code. The prosecution provided testimony from 23 witnesses, including DNA evidence that connected Odhiambo to the murder.

 

Chiloba’s body was found stuffed inside a metallic box on 1st January 2023 along the Kipenyo-Kaptinga road within Mokombet village in Uasin Gishu County before it was identified by the police.

Government pathologist Johansen Oduor revealed that Eldoret based fashion designer Edwin Chiloba (Kiprotich) was Suffocated to death.

Jackton Odhiambo who was believed to be Chiloba's lover was arrested and identified as the main suspect.
