Ida Alisha reveals she worked as a waitress in the US after her marriage ended

Ida Alisha known for her acting role in the show 'Mother-in-Law' has shared her experience growing up in a toxic home.
Her dad was physically abusive to her mum.
"One day my dad was beating my mum and my sister who is 8-years older than me tried to intervene.
He Had a stone and was lying on her. He turned and stepped on my sister's ankle and it ended up swelling.
I was so young but I beat his 'ass' and he beat me so hard.
That was the last of the ordeal, my mum left after that.'
Ida says she is not afraid to start again.
She also got married to an abusive partner and ended up divorced.
'People who grew up in abusive families become abusers or end up in abusive relationships.
It's easier to leave, sometimes staying only gives kids trauma."
After her divorce, she moved to the US
"It was scary starting over.
Having left the country with some sought of fame, I did not know who my true friend was.
I waited tables, I did whatever needed to be done to secure a life for myself.
At the time I was in Kenya I was doing well for myself, I was acting on Mother-in-Law and also writing for them. I was also writing for Tahidi High.
But that did not matter, I even worked as a receptionist for a salon. I worked at a petrol station, That is the oddest job I did, it was scary."
