"I got into music because I had a crush on someone" Tiwa Savage opens up

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has opened up about getting into music because she had a crush on a man who was associating himself more with artistes.

Savage said this in an interview when she was explaining her love for acting, revealing that she loved acting more than making music.

"I've always wanted to do acting, it was actually one of my first love before music. I got into music because I had a crush on a guy and he was always around the musicians for I said forget acting let me just go into music," she told MTV

She described going back into acting as a full 360 moment for her and executively producing her new film 'Water & Garri' as her dream come true.

The film will be released on May 10th.

The title of the film is derived from the critically acclaimed fifth studio project Water & Garri which sees Tiwa collaborate with musical heavyweights from across the United States and Africa.

The EP opens with 'Work Fada' a 6:26 minute musical experience featuring rap legend Nas with songwriter and producer Rich King who also produced the record.

Other features include Grammy Award singing sensation Brandy, Nigerian singer-songwriter Tay Iwar, and Ghanaian-American artist Amaraae.
