Hundreds of residents from Uasin Gishu and neighbouring Nandi and Kakamega counties thronged the home of President William Ruto for early Christmas giveaways.
The residents jammed roads as early as 4 am as goodies were offloaded from several lorries at his Sugoi home.
Long queues filed up by joyous residents as they receive packets of wheat flour, cooking oil and rice.
Philip Lagat, a neighbour to the president says he was shocked by the number of people who turned today morning.
"I was really shocked, people as far as Chepterwai in Nandi, Kakamega and Trans Nzoia counties were here very early in the morning, I think Kenyans are really suffering due to hard economic times," noted Lagat.
He said the president has been holding the same in the last years but he has never experienced such a huge number of people.
The Head of State called on Kenyans to have a positive outlook on their nation no matter what, adding that challenges were being resolved.
He said though the economy is on recovery, Kenyans should be optimistic that one day all shall be well.
On Wednesday, the president with the first lady Rachael Ruto together with Uasin Gishu leadership led by Governor Jonathan Bii had hosted children from 50 children homes across the county in preparation for the upcoming Christmas season celebrations at Eldoret state lodge.
