Entrepreneur and socialite Huddah Monroe has launched a scathing rant, claiming that over 70% of Kenyans engage in scams. She criticized many local businesspeople as unreliable, arguing that importing products is often a safer option than trusting Kenyan traders.

Huddah advised people to remain cautious when conducting business, especially for the first time. She urged buyers to thoroughly vet sellers before making payments, emphasizing the importance of dealing with reputable companies rather than individuals.

“70% of people in Kenya are scammers. Before you part with your money for any services, make sure you do your due diligence,” she warned. “If you can import something, that’s even better. Always work with well-established companies. Individuals should be approached with extreme caution.”

She highlighted warning signs to watch for when engaging in business, particularly dealing with individuals who lack a physical office. “Know where they live, their parents’ house, their siblings—everything,” she advised. “At least for me, I have the resources to track anyone down, unless they don’t use Wi-Fi or mobile phones.”

Predicting consequences for those who engage in fraudulent activities, Huddah cautioned that karma would eventually catch up with them. “People will start disappearing or losing their lives over petty scams. Keep playing around with theft for small amounts of money, but remember, a thief’s days are numbered.”

She further criticized scammers for their deceptive tactics, saying they often pose as brokers but lack the funds to complete jobs. “They take your money, pretend they can do the work, and then scramble to find someone else to do it. Sometimes, they just use your money to pay off their debts.”

Huddah concluded by advocating for swift action against scammers, comparing them to criminals who were once dealt with harshly by the public. “Back in the day, thieves were stoned in the streets. That’s the only way people learn,” she remarked.
