Heartbreaking Video of police officers brutally Assaulting a Woman Angers Kenyans

Kenyans are demanding answers after a disturbing, undated video surfaced online showing a police officer violently assaulting a woman.

In the video, the officer, clad in full combat gear, is seen mercilessly kicking a woman dressed in red and black as another officer whips her.

The woman struggles to walk away from the smoke-filled scene while the officers continue to commandeer her.

It is unclear where the footage was taken, but online speculation suggests the incident occurred at Kitale National Polytechnic.

A second video shared on TikTok shows a different angle, capturing a smoke-filled environment believed to be the result of tear gas.

The viral videos have ignited widespread outrage, with many Kenyans calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the officers involved.

@fitflow45 said, “This is beyond disgraceful. Police are meant to protect, not terrorize. Accountability must come swiftly, no more cover-ups or silence on brutality.”

This sentiment was echoed by Anil Bhakar, who said, “This is heartbreaking and unacceptable. Police brutality against women at Kitale National Polytechnic must be condemned, and those responsible should face justice immediately.”

@accessmuney_ added, “This is wrong and uncalled for. What I'm seeing here is fools projecting their anger to the wrong audience. When will we as a country start making these people pay for their atrocities individually. Sad!”

The latest outrage comes just weeks after the National Police Service (NPS) was compelled to issue a statement following another viral video showing a police officer assaulting a man.

In that video, an armed officer, wielding a pistol, is seen attacking a man already lying on the ground, kicking him, stepping on his neck, and even standing fully on him at one point.

In response to public outcry, police spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga said the video was not recent and that disciplinary action had already been taken.

“National Police Service (NPS) has taken cognisance of a disturbing video circulating in the media, which shows a police officer assaulting a man lying on the ground,” he said in a statement posted on the service’s official social media pages.

“The Service wishes to clarify that the incident occurred in 2018, and the officer captured in the clip was identified, with appropriate disciplinary action taken against him.”

Despite the clarification, netizens remained skeptical and continued to call for greater transparency and accountability within the police service.
