This comes after CS Kuria took to his X account (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday night to call out 13 senators over the ongoing impeachment hearing against Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, saying that they were being misled by external forces.
The thirteen include Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho), Jackson Mandago (Uasin Gishu), Hillary Sigei (Bomet), Alex Mundigi (Embu), Samson Cherargei (Nandi) and Seki Lenku Ole Kanar (Kajiado).
Others include Fatuma Dullo (Isiolo), Abdul Haji (Garissa), Kamau Murango (Kirinyaga), Wahome Wamatinga (Nyeri), Kathuri Murungi (Meru), Enoch Wambua (Kitui) and Otieno Kajwan’g (Homabay).
In their rebuttal during the second day of Mwangaza's impeachment hearing, the senators demanded that an apt censure be made on Kuria's unbecoming conduct and that he be let off his duty.
The lawmakers registered their dissatisfaction over Kuria's repeated frivolous remarks over crucial government bodies and said he should be summoned for questioning in the Senate.
"I take great exception in the conduct of Moses Kuria in the tweet and the things he said about this House. I now agree that we should discuss the conduct of this minister because, at every given opportunity, he has done nothing but embarrass the appointing authority," said Senator Cheruiyot, who is also the majority leader of the House.
"It is my submission that the earlier CS Kuria is let off his duty the better for this administration. Let him know that Senators cannot be intimidated and this monkey business he is trying to introduce cannot be allowed to stand."
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna seconded Cheruiyot's remarks, adding that Kuria has always cast doubt on the appointing decisions of President William Ruto, terming him a national shame.
"Moses Kuria is an incorrigible national shame. How much embarrassment does the president have the capacity to endure? I can assure you that if nothing is done on him (Kuria) more embarrassment is coming," said Sifuna.
"Action must be taken, and he must be removed from that position."
Senator Kajwang' spared no sentiments while backing the call to oust Kuria, saying that Kuria has belittled the House and taken away its credibility.
"Such conduct should not just be reprimanded and left at that. I want to urge that this CS who uses social media to disparage the House be summoned to appear before the House to substantiate his remarks," he said.
"His conduct falls within the threshold of impeachment."
Wamatinga issued a clarion call to President Ruto to organize his cabinet, arguing that Kuria is no special individual to not be shown the door.
"I do join hands with my colleagues to tell the president that he must put his house in order. Central region has no shortage of intelligent people who are capable of learning the docket that Kuria is learning," he said.
Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka joined the bandwagon saying that Kuria is notably losing grip on maintaining a noble conduct as a state officer and he should soon change tact before the axe falls on him.
"Sometimes he doesn't understand that what he says means a lot to Kenyans and indeed our words have consequences. He has to up his game at this point all of us are going to become his enemies," he said.
Putting the cap on the matter, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi said that the matter will be stamped at the National Assembly, urging the Senators to pursue the matter to their fulfilment.
"You have the power under the law to deal with the kind of behavior that you're complaining about. Invoke the relevant standing orders."
The Senators further warned Kuria to stay clear of the impeachment hearing and its affairs and solely focus on his administrative duties.
