Government Announces 100 Job Vacancies for Drivers: See Details

The State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development has announced 100 vacancies for the position of Driver II, CSG 15.
In a notice on Tuesday, September 30, the State Department invited qualified drivers to apply for the jobs.
“The State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development invites applications from qualified persons for the position of Driver II, CSG 15,” the notice read in part.
Applicants are required to have attained a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade of D plain or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Applicants must also possess a valid driving licence free from current endorsements for the relevant vehicle classes, a first-aid certificate from St. John Ambulance, the Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT), or any other recognized institution (course lasting not less than one week).
Further, they must have passed the Suitability Test Grade III, hold a valid Police Clearance Certificate, and have at least two years of driving experience.
Duties for the drivers will include driving a motor vehicle as authorized, carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical, and brake systems, maintenance of work tickets for the vehicles assigned, and ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road.
Other tasks include ensuring the safety of the passengers or goods therein and maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle.
Successful applicants will earn a monthly salary of between Ksh19,340 and Ksh24,470. They will also be entitled to a house allowance depending on the region deployed, a commuter allowance of Ksh3,000 per month, and a leave allowance of Ksh4,000 per year.

Interested candidates should submit their application by filling out the application for employment form PSC 2 available on the Public Service Commission website (www.publicservice.go.ke).

The applications can be hand-delivered to the State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Uchumi House, 12th Floor, Room 1201, between 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Alternatively, applicants can email their applications to driver.recruitment2@psyg.go.ke.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 5.00 p.m.
Shortlisted candidates are required to produce originals of their national identity card, academic certificates, and other testimonials during interviews.
