The Nairobi Hospital has dismissed a letter circulating online that claims to announce new leadership at the institution.
In a strongly worded cautionary statement, the hospital clarified that the letter is fake and has no basis in fact.
According to the Chairman of the Kenya Hospital Association, Dr Barcley Onyambu, no board meeting took place on the date indicated in the fake letter.
As a result, no changes to the hospital’s board leadership occurred as claimed.
“No board meeting took place on the date alleged in the letter, and therefore no changes to the Board leadership (Chairman and Vice-Chairman) occurred as alleged,” Onyambu said.
Onyambu further pointed out that the letter used a fraudulent letterhead, which does not exist.
He emphasised that Kenya Hospital Association, the entity that manages The Nairobi Hospital, does not operate under that name.
“Kenya Hospital Association trades as “The Nairobi Hospital” and not "The Nairobi Hospital Convention Center" and any communication bearing a letterhead titled "The Nairobi Hospital Convention Center" is fraudulent and mischievous formulation aimed at misleading stakeholders and the public.”
The hospital urged the public and media to treat any unofficial messages with suspicion and to verify such information through the hospital’s established communication channels.

It said all official communication from the board comes from the company secretary.
“All official communication concerning board matters is solely notified through the office of the Company Secretary,” the statement read.
The hospital warned that the fake letter is a "mischievous formulation aimed at misleading stakeholders and the public."
The Nairobi Hospital reiterated its commitment to transparency and accountability, and called on all stakeholders to remain alert and verify any information purported to come from the hospital.
