YouTuber and digital content creator Diana Marua has teased her husband, Kevin Bahati, after he posted a video addressing the woman claiming to be his mother and questioning his identity.

Diana, who could not resist joking about the unusual situation, cheekily replied to Bahati’s video on his official Instagram account with a nickname many use while referring to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula.

In the video, Bahati is seen wearing a blue floral-print shirt, which prompted his wife’s playful comment.

“Story za “Mum” Kando kidogo, mbona umeeka Christmas carols on a serious issue like this one? Wewe Wetaaa!” Diana teased Bahati.

While questioning his identity, Bahati, in the video, wondered whether he should pursue a DNA test, adding that if his mother were alive, that would have been the best thing in his life, and he was uncertain about what to do next.

“Should I pursue a DNA is it even possible? If my mum were alive, that would have been the best thing in my life. I do not know what I should do. I have no contact of this woman, how will I get her someone help me?” Bahati asked.

Despite the uncertainty, Bahati recalled attending his mother’s burial as a child and witnessing her grave, which adds a layer of complexity to the situation. He also noted inconsistencies in the story, including doubts about his own ethnic background, but he remains determined to get answers.

“Kuna story hazi add up juu inaweza kuwa mimi hukuwa tu mluhya na mimi sio mkamba inaweza kuwa najiforce na Kioko kumbe mimi nafa kuitwa Wetang’ula ama Natembea, but again I ask myself, I attended my mum’s burial, I was a child around seven years old, but I witnessed that grave,” he added.

In addition, Bahati refuted claims of chasing clout, adding that he has been caught by surprise.

“Kenyans, mimi najua mimi ni King wa kiki nimewachanganya sana nimewapiga vipindi miaka mingi lakini I confess hii ya huyu sihusiki huyu matha amenipiga by surprise,” he said.

Bahati further said that his elder brother, Kioko, had told him the woman had been looking for him for five years, but he had brushed it off, and Bahati only saw her in a video for the first time.

“Vile hii story imetoka, my elder brother Kioko amenicall akaniambia huyu matha amekuwa akikutafuta for five years ata ashawai piga kwa simu yake my brother akaibrush off, sasa sahii ndio mimi nimemwona kwa video for the first time,” Bahati disclosed.

“Hizo comments zenu ati anafanana na watoto wangu anafanya nini, this is very serious, it looks like a joke, but it is also emotional. Sitaki kuichukulia kama jokes juu am like, what if it was true? Let’s ask mamangu hukuwa tu ako hai mahali. I think that would change my life forever, that is why I do not want to brush it off.“
