"Diamond Saidia Babako, Anapitia Mengi": Netizens Rally Around Diamond Platnumz's Dad Over Viral Clip

A new TikTok video featuring Mzee Abdul Juma, the man long identified as the father of Bongo Flava icon Diamond Platnumz, has sparked a wave of sympathy and renewed family controversy.

The clip, shared by Diamond’s sister and WCB signee Queen Darleen, shows a weary-looking Abdul in a modest home setting, leading fans to worry about his well-being.

A Face of Hardship

In the footage, Abdul appears visibly tired, a detail that did not escape the keen eyes of social media users. The comment sections were quickly flooded with the phrase.

"Anapitia Mengi" (He is going through a lot), as fans contrasted his humble surroundings with the immense wealth of the "Baba Lao" singer.

While some netizens urged Diamond to reach out and support the man who raised him, others were quick to point out the complex and painful history that has defined their relationship for over a decade.

The Paternity Bombshell

The estrangement between the two reached a breaking point years ago when Diamond’s mother, Sanura Kassim (Mama Dangote), dropped a bombshell revelation.

She publicly declared that Mzee Abdul was not Diamond’s biological father. According to Mama Dangote:

  • The biological father was the late Salum Iddi Nyange.

  • Abdul entered her life when she was already pregnant and allegedly refused to take responsibility for the child.

  • She maintained that Abdul provided zero financial or emotional support during Diamond’s schooling and early years.

"I Have Left it to God"

Despite the public disowning and the revelation of his true paternity, Mzee Abdul has previously stated that he holds no grudges.

In a past interview back in 2022, he admitted that being publicly told he wasn't the father was a "hard time," but he chose to forgive the family and move on with his faith.

Diamond, whose real name is Naseeb Abdul Juma, reportedly learnt the truth about his lineage around the year 2000.

While he initially maintained a respectful distance, the relationship soured as Abdul made frequent media appearances accusing the superstar of neglect, while the Platnumz camp countered with stories of childhood abandonment.

A Divided Public

The latest video has reignited the "nature vs. nurture" debate in Tanzania. Supporters of Diamond argue that he owes nothing to a man who reportedly failed him in his youth, while critics suggest that for the sake of his public image and "old age respect," the singer should intervene in Abdul’s seemingly difficult life.
