A family in Nairobi’s Eastleigh estate is seeking justice after three of their loved ones, two daughters and their mother who disappeared on Monday, October 21, were found dead.
Preliminary reports showed that the three bodies were found in Bahati, Parklands and Machakos respectively with similar injuries.
The two girls had gone to search for their mother who had left home for hospital earlier in the day and had not returned home.
According to the family, the sisters aged 11 and 22 left their home on Monday at around 5:30pm to look for their mother who had gone for skin treatment in Eastleigh town and had not communicated at all.
“Our aunt by the name Warris said she wanted to go for skin treatment here at BBS Mall at around 8:30am. They wanted her up to around 11:00pm but she didn’t come back. When they called her over the phone, she kept saying she was on her way. The two daughters then decided to go and pick her although it was late,” Sumeya Noor, a family member, said.
Eastleigh CCTV Footage
CCTV footage captured the two daughters making a phone call then a car arrived, and they got in.
According to Noor, that was the last time the two girls were seen alive.
“That was the last time we saw them, and they disappeared,” Noor said.
She narrated that they received information that a body had been found and after confirmation, they identified it as one of the sisters.
“We received news in the morning that there is a body that was here at Park Road. We came and confirmed it was her; she was killed badly. We don’t know whether the mother has also been killed because their bodies were dumped in different locations,” said another relative.
Afterwards, their mother’s body was found in a bush in Machakos killed in a similar manner.
An officer at Machakos Level 5 mortuary said the mother’s body had been mutilated and the additional details will be given after the postmortem.
“The body is badly mutilated, for now what we can say is that our pathologist is going to take over, do the postmortem and any other further detail will follow,” said the officer.
Family in Ngong Mourns Murder of Daughter
Elsewhere, the family of 24-year-old Christine Nyakio who disappeared from their home in Ngong on Friday, October 18, is mourning after her body was discovered dumped in the Ngong area.
Anne Wanjiru, Nyakio’s sister, said she was dragged out of her apartment by unidentified man on Thursday, October 17, and was never seen again.
“On Thursday, the kids in the apartment noted that there was a man who tried to force her out of the house and that was the last time she was seen in her apartment,” Wanjiru said.
She called for investigations into her death stating that, “I pray that justice is served, she didn’t deserve to die, she was young, bright and the smartest sister I ever had and will always have.”
