Carol Katrue and Miracle Baby’s Public Falling Out: Witchcraft, Betrayal, and TikTok Tears
The once inseparable duo of Kenyan content creator Carol Katrue and former Gengetone artist Peter Mwangi, popularly known as Miracle Baby, has erupted into a public spat that has captivated fans and ignited heated debates across social media. Just months after a heartfelt reconciliation mediated by Katrue’s mother in November 2024, the couple’s relationship has crumbled again, with Katrue citing witchcraft, family disputes, and abandonment as the breaking points in an emotional TikTok Live session that aired earlier this week.
A Love Story Turned Sour
Carol Katrue and Miracle Baby’s relationship has been a rollercoaster watched closely by their followers since they began dating over three years ago. The couple, who share a son named Rhonix born in February 2023, weathered numerous storms, including Miracle Baby’s life-threatening intestinal condition in early 2024. Katrue stood by his side, rallying Kenyans to raise over KSh 1.4 million for his medical bills across multiple surgeries. Their reunion late last year, credited to the wise counsel of Katrue’s mother, had fans hopeful for a happily-ever-after. Miracle Baby even praised his mother-in-law as “the best in this generation” for her role in patching things up.
But that hope was short-lived. On February 9, 2025, Katrue declared herself single on Instagram, asking fans to respect her boundaries and stop linking her to Miracle Baby’s actions, such as alleged drunk driving incidents reported by concerned callers. The situation escalated this week when Katrue went live on TikTok, tears streaming, to unpack the reasons behind their latest—and possibly final—split.
Witchcraft Allegations Take Center Stage
In a bombshell revelation, Katrue accused Miracle Baby’s family of using witchcraft against her, claiming it plagued her pregnancy and their life together. “From six months of my pregnancy, I kept going to the hospital because of forced labor,” she said, her voice breaking. She alleged that after naming their son after Miracle Baby’s father—a gesture he rejected—the child began suffering convulsions, which she linked to supernatural interference. “What makes me believe they are involved in witchcraft is all these things happening,” she added, asserting she has evidence to back her claims.
Katrue’s accusations didn’t stop there. She painted a picture of mistreatment and hatred from Miracle Baby’s relatives, suggesting their influence contributed to the couple’s constant quarrels, often fueled by his drinking habits. The tipping point, she said, came when he kicked her out of his house, effectively ending their cohabitation.
“He Told Me to Raise Money Myself”
Perhaps the most stinging betrayal Katrue shared was Miracle Baby’s response after his recovery. Having been discharged from the hospital in 2024 following months of treatment, Katrue proposed going live on TikTok to appeal for funds to clear lingering bills. His retort, she claims, was cold: “He told me that I can as well raise the money for myself as he had not asked me to.” This, after she had tirelessly supported him through his darkest days, left her feeling abandoned. “Alipona akaniambia pia mimi naweza jichangishia, hahitaji help yangu,” she recounted—translated as, “When he healed, he told me I could fend for myself, he didn’t need my help.”
Hours after Katrue’s emotional outpouring, Miracle Baby took to his own TikTok Live, visibly distraught. Breaking down in tears, he spoke cryptically about his struggles, saying, “God, please… if I was to get saved to go through these things that I am going through, enough, man. Enough God. Let it get to the end.” While he didn’t directly address Katrue’s allegations, his plea for relief hinted at deeper personal turmoil, leaving fans wondering if their paradise had indeed turned to ashes.
