Elias Mutugi Njeru, the main suspect in the attempted murder of Florence Wanjiku Gichohi, turned himself in alongside his lawyer.
"The suspect surrendered at Nakuru Police Station in the company of his lawyer from Gakuhi Chege and Associates Advocates," the National Police Service (NPS) said.
The suspect was re-arrested by police and placed in custody, pending investigations by officers from Menengai police station.
The attempted murder was reported at Kiamunyi Police Post in Nakuru on Friday. Preliminary investigations established that the victim was attacked by her boyfriend Elias Njeru Mutugi, who is also her business associate at Indigenous Land Properties Limited.
"The incident happened at their rental house in Olive area following domestic wrangles. She is currently admitted to a hospital in serious condition," police added.
The attack has been condemned by leaders from the county who are calling for a speedy dispensation of justice for Wanjiku.
"We will stand with the family and when the security agents are done with the investigation, we volunteer on pro bono to hold brief for her family," said Gender Principal Secretary (PS) Anna Wangombe.
It is the latest in a series of similar attacks which have left many maimed and others dead.
