Bensoul has revealed his rate card.
As of 2022, Bensoul charged a flat rate of US dollars 2,800 (Sh360,000) when booked solo, and US dollars 4,500 (Sh580,000) as part of Sol Generation.
He now has new rates after he went solo.
“Those are old rates. I no longer accept a show outside the country that pays less than US dollars 10,000 (Sh1.3 million). Locally, the minimum I charge for a show is US dollar 8,000 (Sh1 million) and this is because, among many other factors that I have attempted to explain above which also includes taxes, I do live performances with a live band that needs to be catered for,”
Below are rate cards for diffrent African artists.
Tanzanian artist Zuchu revealed her rate rates, stating:
"I don't attend any show for less than Tsh. 20 million (over Ksh. 960,000),"
She continued to say that the lowest payment she has received was Tsh. 15 million, which is approximately more than Ksh. 720,000.
"This year, the lowest-paying show I performed at paid me Tsh. 15 million (over Ksh. 720,000), and the boss was begged a lot until he agreed to help our brothers," Zuchu claimed.
The Diamond Platnumz manager, Sallam Skrevealed the singer's rate card.
He said Diamond does not take anything less than a hundred thousand US dollars (Ksh 14.2 million). He said this is the minimum.
"Sio chini ya dola laki moja. Inafikia gharama unapanda kwenye stage na watu 20-30 na wote unawalipa," he said when asked how much the singer charges per show
(He doesn't take anything less than 100K USD. It gets to a point that he has to get on stage with 20-30 people and you have to pay them)
He advised artistes that if they have to get on a stage which has been put up with about Tsh 200 million why not also ask to be paid the same kinds of money.
"We need to invest in music," he said
