Content creator Faustine Lipuku, alias Baba Talisha, has apologised to Meru miraa farmers following a social media post in which he suggested that partners who chew miraa are not destined by God.
The humorous remark, shared widely across his platforms, sparked backlash from the community, with many arguing that it disrespected the local miraa industry and the hard-working farmers who sustain it.
The TikToker, in a statement on Monday, November 3, 2025, clarified that his intent was never to demean or belittle anyone, explaining that his platform is built on humour, unity, and entertainment.
He expressed deep respect for the miraa farmers and the Meru community, acknowledging the significance of the industry in supporting countless families across the region.
“I’ve always shared memes to entertain, not to attack or belittle anyone’s hustle or culture. I have nothing but respect for miraa farmers and the hard-working people of Meru who have built a powerful industry that feeds many families,” he wrote.
Baba T emphasised that his content is aimed at making people laugh and spreading positive vibes, not causing division or disrespect.

“My platform is about laughter, unity, and positive vibes, never hate or division. Much love and respect to you all. Strong men don’t run from accountability; they face it with grace.”
He further noted that he has always celebrated the community, having visited Meru multiple times, personally experienced chewing miraa, and even promoted farmers and sellers through his previous posts.
“I want to sincerely apologize to all my Meru fans and especially to miraa farmers who might have felt offended by my recent meme that said, “Mungu hawezi kupea boyfriend anakula miraa unless kuna kitu ulimkosea.” My intention was never to attack anyone or look down on the miraa community,” he added.
Baba Talisha took full responsibility for the reaction his meme generated, describing the experience as a learning moment and expressing sincere remorse for any offense caused.
He urged his fans and followers to continue supporting one another, focusing on unity, love, and laughter rather than division.
“Those who follow me know I love posting funny memes every day just to keep my audience entertained and engaged. I share content that makes people laugh not content that divides or disrespects. I have never made any tribal or hateful sentiments toward any community. My fanbase is diverse and I value each and every one of you deeply. I’ve been to Meru many times. I’ve even chewed miraa myself, and I’ve promoted those who sell it through my videos. So trust me when I say I have nothing but love and respect for miraa farmers and the entire Meru community,” Baba T added.
