A section of Azimio-One Kenya Alliance politicians has lashed out at President William Ruto over his recent remarks on sugar cartels impeding his efforts to revive Mumias Sugar Company.
During his tour of the Western region, the Head of State fired a warning that has angered a section of Azimio politicians.
Speaking in Maranda Primary School in Bondo, Siaya, on Friday, Senator Oburu Oginga said Ruto's remarks were unfortunate, especially at a time when the families of victims of police brutality during the anti-government protests are struggling to come to terms with what befell their kin.
His sentiments were echoed by Siaya Governor James Orengo, who said the utterances of those in leadership especially the president must encourage good governance and the rule of law so as not to risk cases of extra-judicial killings.
The leaders had attended Maranda Primary School’s education day and Harambee.
