While indulging in a candid conversation with his wife, talent manager and seasoned producer, Judy Nyawira during an appearance on her YouTube channel Abel revealed his biological dad abandoned their family when he was just 8 years old.

Leaving his mom on her own with two young kids, something that broke the content creator at the time but also helped build his character.

"Alikacheza design ingine kali," started off Abel aka Mkuru heartily, having made peace with his past.

The veteran actor recounted how his dad left in such a comical way. According to Abel, his dad applied for early retirement, taking a voluntary severance package.

With the money he sort greener pastures assuring his family that he'd take good care of them with the new income.

However, it was all smoke and mirrors. Abel's dad squandered his retirement package.

After 3 months he did in fact return with a bag of cabbages and potatoes, a token to show his farm was actually thriving.

Shortly afterward, he left again promising to come back with more but the man vanished, never to be seen or heard from again.

Mkurugenzi went on to detail how he vowed to never repeat his father's mistakes when he was blessed with a child, despite the circumstances.

"When I was very young, I knew for a fact that when it came to that time, Mungu akinibariki na mtoto, I was not the one to bolt... That was shaped by my experiences of growing up without a father," Abel, who shares a teen daughter known as Mumbus with wife, Judy Nyawira candidly said.
