Political commentator Cassypool has outlined why he continues to support Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu amid widespread unrest and criticism following the country’s Wednesday, October 29, 2025, election.
Speaking to local YouTubers on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Cassypool refuted claims that his steadfast support for Samia was due to his Swahili heritage.
He said he supports the President one hundred per cent, emphasising that Tanzanians should show loyalty to Samia and not emulate their Kenyan counterparts, who often confront their leaders aggressively during times of crisis.
“I have supported Mama Samia Suluhu one hundred per cent. I am not Tanzanian and I do not have a vote in Tanzania, but I have always been among the first to advise my Tanzanian brothers and sisters not to imitate the bad habits of Kenyans,” he said.

Cassypool added that he has always preached peace and urged citizens to focus on maintaining calm, describing Tanzania as a country that has long upheld stability and has never witnessed violent demonstrations of the type common in other regions.
“Focus on your country because it is a land of peace. Those habits of endless protests that happen in Kenya bring no honour to anyone. Your country is peaceful, and blood has never been shed there. I preach peace because I love peace,” he said.
He further explained that his continued support is based on President Samia’s leadership as a mother and woman leader from East Africa, emphasising that he respects her and all women.
“I have continued to support President Samia Suluhu because she is a mother and a woman leader from our East African region. I respect her, and I respect all women and mothers,” he added.
On criticisms regarding the President’s re-election, where she secured 98 per cent of the vote, Cassypool revealed that the results reflect genuine public support.
He said the official opposition in Tanzania today even holds a vice presidency in Zanzibar and highlighted that the political system is functioning despite noise on social media.
“If you did not know, the official opposition in Tanzania today has its own Vice President in Zanzibar. Those parties you hear making noise on social media should be ignored,” Cassypool said.
Cassypool added that even Suluhu’s opponents acknowledged her popularity and that widespread support should not be questioned or distorted online.
“I support what Mama Samia said, that she had seventeen opponents, and even they agreed to vote for her. I see no problem with that 98 per cent result because the people genuinely love her. So you should not come here with your social media narratives trying to spoil Tanzanians.”
He also stated that while some had tried to discredit him or suggest ulterior motives for his backing of Samia, he remained firm in his position, reiterating that his stance is guided by principles of peace, respect, and the need to protect the country’s unity.
“Therefore, no one should try to intimidate or threaten me by saying that I should be handed over to Tanzanians to be beaten. No one has the power to lay a hand on me.”
