Busia: Man sentenced to 30 imprisonment for defiling a 5-year-old girl and infecting her with an STI
A Magistrate's court in Busia has sentenced a man to 30 years in prison after he was found guilty of defiling a five-year-old girl.
Busia Resident Magistrate Eunice Serem handed Silvester Wandera the jail term, ruling that the prosecution had proved the case.
Four witnesses testified against the accused who is said to have defiled the minor and even infected her with a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI).
"The Prosecution presented a total of 4 witnesses who informed the Court that the accused defiled the child in a cassava plantation and subsequently infected the child with a Sexually Transmitted Infection," said the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions on Friday.
