Safaricom has confirmed disruptions of M-pesa App services due to a system glitch amid complaints on social media.
Through a statement on the company's official X account on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, Safaricom confirmed the outage noting it is working to restore normal operations.
A widespread service outage has disrupted M-pesa-related transactions including buying of airtime causing inconvenience for many customers in Kenya.
"Apologies for the inconvenience. We are aware of the M-Pesa issue and working to resolve it soon," Safaricom assured its customers.
Notably, in a previous statement, Safaricom had advised their customers on alternative ways to transact in case of an outage.
Customers were asked to use STK or dial *334# to transact.
