The body of a man who had been missing was found partially eaten up by dogs in his house in Athi River, Machakos County.
Maurice Mwaka, 45 was a caretaker of the residence of a university don in Sabaki area.
The owner of the home had talked to Mwaka on January 27, 2024.
He never heard from him until February 2 when he was informed his body had been found in his makeshift house at the compound.
The policies were notified when the firm employing Mwaka reported him missing for three days.
Colleagues, upon checking on him, found the door was open.
They found his naked body within the house, with signs of dog bites on the neck.
The police were summoned, conducted preliminary investigations, and subsequently transported the body to the morgue for an autopsy.
The police said they are investigating the death.
The deceased had apparently worked at the home for seven years. It is not clear what caused his death, police said.
