The Kenya Urban Roads Authority has announced a 23-day traffic disruption along Ngong Road around the Junction Mall Area.
In a notice on Thursday, November 6, the authority relayed that the disruption would take place between November 18 and December 10.
The disruption is expected to allow for construction on the road, specifically the erection of the steel structure for the flyover currently under construction.
“The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) wishes to notify the general public of a temporary traffic disruption along Ngong Road around the Junction Mall Area effective Tuesday, 18th November 2025, to Wednesday, 10th December 2025,” the statement read.
“The disruption is to allow for the erection of the steel structure for the flyover currently under construction.”
Over the course of the 28 days, works will be carried out between 8pm and 5am daily except on Sunday.

As such, traffic at those times will be diverted between Nairobi City County Training School and Kenya Science Campus to accommodate two-way traffic within the section.
Motorists have therefore been advised to exercise caution when approaching the affected section and to observe all traffic signs and directions issued by police officers and traffic marshals who will be on site to ensure smooth traffic flow.
This comes just a few months after KURA announced that the new flyover at the Ngong Road–Naivasha Road junction near Junction Mall is set to be completed by July 2027.
In a statement on July 3, the authority announced that the four-lane flyover near Junction Mall will include improved junctions, walkways, and cycling lanes.
"Construction of the Ngong Rd–Naivasha Rd (Junction Mall) Flyover is well underway! The project features a 4-lane flyover, improved junctions, walkways & cycling lanes, set to ease congestion and boost urban mobility. Completion is set for July 2027," KURA said.
"This flyover is part of the Ngon'g road corridor development, and the works involve constructing a dual carriageway and a bridge approximately 800 metres long."
