Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka now says that Daadab MP Farah Maalim has been expelled from the party over recent “disturbing” remarks.

In a press statement on Wednesday, January 15, Kalonzo said that Maalim, who is also the Wiper’s Deputy Leader, had violated the party’s constitution, insisting that his recent utterances were shameful to say the least.

“He used to be a reformist and I campaigned for him in Daadab…It’s heavy on my heart that he can say such utterances. From now henceforth, we have expelled him from the party,” Kalonzo said, comparing Maalim’s statements to “looking down” upon Kenyans.

Maalim, on Friday, January 10 ignited another controversy, after issuing controversial remarks about youthful government critics in Turbo, Uasin Gishu County, during President William Ruto’s tour of the North Rift. He also hurled unprintable words, while declaring that President Ruto will a second term in office.

These remarks come at the backdrop of Maalim being summoned by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) over his controversial remarks that allegedly called for killing of Gen Z protesters.

On Tuesday, January 14, Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi alleged that National Intelligence Service (NIS) boss Noordin Haji was behind his son’s abduction.

While delving on the issue, Kalonzo said that Haji was not acting alone.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Director General of NIS cannot be held responsible alone. [President William Ruto] is also responsible. I saw a headline saying Noordin Haji is the chief abductor, it is Ruto who is the chief abductor. Let Ruto know he will not go unpunished,” Kalonzo alleged.
