Why has Elani not released any music? - Wambui Ngugi

Kenyan music group Elani has once again gained attention on Twitter, trending on 28th May, as fans expressed their curiosity about the band's recent lack of music releases. Comprising of talented vocalists Maureen Kunga, Wambui Ngugi, and Brian Chweya, Elani has mesmerized audiences with their powerful voices that evoke strong emotions.

The trio surprised their fans by taking a break, leaving them eager for more. Their previous album, 'The Colour of Love,' made a lasting impact. With a YouTube channel boasting over 100,000 subscribers and 74 videos, Elani's absence has left their dedicated fans feeling adrift and longing for new music.

In an interview with Nairobi News, Wambui Ngugi acknowledged the fans' anticipation for the band's next project, stating that they are currently enjoying each other's company during their break and exploring other endeavors they have always wanted to pursue.

Wambui explains that being famous requires caution, as they make efforts to safeguard their personal lives and only disclose what they feel comfortable sharing with the public. Their main focus is on their music, allowing fans to become acquainted with them on their own terms.

Expressing gratitude towards their loyal fans, Wambui thanked them and reassured them that Elani was keeping them in mind. She mentioned that they will treat their fans to some new songs when the timing is appropriate.

Wambui believes that their plans are guided by a higher power, stating that God will ensure their plans are fulfilled when the time is right.

When reflecting on their impact, Wambui shared the joy of witnessing people from different age groups appreciating their music. Elani's songs have touched the lives of both younger and older generations, forging a lasting connection.

She also mentioned that the band members are humbled by the unforeseen success of their popular songs, which they never expected to have such a profound impact.
