Prime Suspect In Eric Maigo’s Murder Changes Plea To Not Guilty

The prime suspect in the killing of Nairobi Hospital Finance Director Eric Maigo has now changed her plea to not guilty in the case where she is accused of murder.

Ann Adhiambo Ouma Alias ‘Nut’ had pleaded not guilty before Justice Diana Kavedza Michache a few weeks after she pleaded guilty to the same offence before justice Kanyi Kimondo at the Milimani law courts.

She was not however released on bond after the the prosecution filed an affidavit in court opposing her release on bond as the age factor took centre stage.

“I hereby direct the defence to file their response to the affidavit to the detectives and the matter be mentioned after 14 days for further directions,” the Judge said.

The ruling came after one document allegedly showed that she was 18 years but the defence allegedly that she was 17 plus nearing 18 years.

“We filed this morning the affidavit on age that we were availing about her age from Dagoreti rehabilitation Centre from where she escaped, we have not served counsel , we shall do so,” the DPP stated.

In the charge sheet read in court, Auma is accused that on September 15, at Woodley Estate in Kilimani, she killed Maigo.

The defence has insisted that the accused person is under 18 years and the court will rule on the age disputes after 14 days.
