President Ruto flags off construction of the 60,000 seater Talanta Sports City stadium

Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports Ababu Namwamba has revealed that the Talanta Sports City Stadium will be an iconic landmark that will be comparable to the best stadiums in the World.

Speaking at the Jamhuri Grounds during the facility's groundbreaking ceremony attended by President William Ruto on Friday, Namwamba described the project as an iconic landmark that will rival the best stadiums in the world.

Namwamba highlighted that the design process for the Talanta Sports City has been meticulously planned for six months.

He added that the stadium's unique design was carefully curated to showcase the finest aspects of Kenyan culture, with a specific focus on football and rugby.

"We have spent six months behind the scenes to conceive and curate what will be an iconic landmark. The stadium is a unique design curated to reflect the very best of Kenyan culture. It is a customized football-only design tailored for soccer and rugby," Ababu stated.

Unlike the rest of the stadiums in the country, Talanta Sports City's design will be a compact layout aimed at enhancing the electric atmosphere, providing Kenyan teams with a distinct advantage in every home game.

The facility is aligned with the green agenda, incorporating renewable energy solutions to minimize its environmental impact.

"It is compact and curated to accentuate the electric atmosphere that will give Kenyan teams an advantage in every home game. It is in sync with the green agenda and pays attention to renewable energy, Ababu added.
