Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga says a bevy of beauties have been flooding his social media sliding into his DMs (direct messages) to hit on him.
Mutahi who is an active user of X formerly Twitter where he has over 22,000 followers and Facebook where he enjoys a following of over 37,000 says a considerate number of these ladies he interacts with daily on the internet have been seducing him.
While he says his heart would love to, his body fails him.
“The problem is that the heart is willing, but the body is not. I turned 65 the other day. There are functions I cannot handle.” Kahiga said in a YouTube interview with Kogi’s Corner.
The father of three celebrated his 65th birthday last Wednesday.
With his last born turning 23, the politician claims he is now an older man who should be looking for romantic escapades.
“I am a realist. These girls usually beg me to accept them, but I cannot do that. It would be inviting trouble and poverty into my life. I am the kind of person who looks at things from a realistic point of view,” he said. He added.
The governor is married to Caroline Wamaitha Mutahi.
The former trade unionist became the fourth governor of Nyeri when he was sworn in on November 13, 2017 following the death of his predecessor Dr. Wahome Gakuru. Kahiga was Gakuru’s deputy.
Dr. Gakuru died in a cockroach accident on the Nyeri-Nairobi highway in Murang’a County in November 2017.
Mutahi Kahiga retained his seat in the 2022 general election, garnering 213,373 votes and defeating his closest rival Dr Thuo Mathenge (NDP) by over 100,000 votes to secure his second term.
Kahiga, a career teacher and former Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Mount Kenya branch secretary is now serving his second term, this time as the duly elected fifth governor.
