Maverick City arrive in Kenya for their Kingdom World tour

Maverick City, a popular American contemporary worship music collective, has officially arrived in Nairobi ahead of their ongoing Kingdom World Tour.

Among them were gospel icon Kirk Franklin, Nigerian worship sensations Tim Godfrey, and Pompi from Ghana.

They arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport earlier on Saturday morning from their Uganda show and were greeted with pomp and colour by local traditional dancers.

Royal Media Services is their official media partner through support from its brands: Citizen Digital, Citizen TV, Hot 96, and Gospel Sunday.

“Kenyans can expect to be able to worship God, to pray and be able to seek God together and we are doing this in partnership with the Royal Media Services that is Citizen TV, Hot 96, Citizen Digital and the other brands at RMS,” JCC Church Senior Pastor Edward Munene said.

“We are coming together not for entertainment, this is not a concert but it will be a time to worship. We will be having Timothy Kaberia, Bethel Lasoi and others. We will be seeking to exalt the name of the Lord, it will be amazing so welcome.”

Kenyan fans will be treated to an uplifting worship experience on Saturday evening at the Uhuru Gardens grounds in Nairobi, where Maverick City and Kirk Franklin will be performing alongside other leading regional and local gospel artists.

“I am excited to be here, I don’t know what it feels like yet coz I have only been here for 10 minutes but we are grateful and happy to be here as Maverick and we are just hoping that the Holy Spirit moves tonight,” said Maverick Singer Naomi Raine.

“We are here for music, worship and all the things and I will see you all tonight.”

They have so far performed in different African countries, which include South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Uganda.

They will be headed to West Africa after performing in Kenya.
