Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz's mother, Mama Dangote, has opened up about the relationship between her son and artiste Zuchu.

Diamond and Zuchu have been in an on-and-off relationship that has left many wondering if their relationship is legitimate or business-oriented. Dating rumours about the pair started when Diamond signed Zuchu as an artiste on his WCB records label and started collaborating with her. However, they later confirmed they were an item, which left many with mixed reactions as some faulted the father of four for not being the type to settle down. 

Mama Dangote on Diamond's relationship with Zuchu In a new interview shared on Wasafi TV's Instagram page, Diamond's mother denied that her son ever introduced Zuchu to her as a potential wife. In her words: "He has never brought Zuchu to me and said he wants to marry her. What I know is that Zuchu is his artiste. He can actually stay with 100 women but has not decided to marry. What I know is a wife is the one you take your dowry too."

When told that people know Zuchu and Diamond are dating, she said: "How do they know? Have they gone to the house? This world, since Naseeb started singing, there's no one who has not been told his wife," she added. When asked what she thought Zuchu would think about her sentiments, she let out an exclamation mark that left many puzzled. 

This is not the first time Mama Dangote downplays Zuchu being with her son. When Tanasha moved to Tanzania and visited her, she supported a comment from a fan saying the Kenyan singer can make a good wife for Diamond. Zuchu confirms Diamond is her first lover Elsewhere, the 27-year-old singer once talked about having one official lover and claimed she has only slept with one man. "It's just one. The one and only. Do you know any boyfriends I have had? In this industry, he is the one and only)" she said as she caressed Diamond's face and kissed him on the cheek.
