Homa Bay County will host an investor conference next week as it seeks to attract investments into the devolved unit.
Themed ‘Unlocking the Bay of Endless Potential’, the conference is the second Homa Bay Investment Conference (HOBIIC) that seeks to showcase investment opportunities, encourage strategic partnerships, and promote wealth creation in a sustainable environment.
“We believe it will help open up opportunities for the county, by attracting investors to harness its diverse opportunities,” DTB Group CEO and Managing Director Nasim Devji said.
Devji noted that the county’s efforts align with DTB’s aspirations to fund income generation and employment opportunities by supporting businesses.
“We are especially excited about the county’s financial literacy programme for its SMEs as well as the sustainability efforts in its blue economy, to ensure responsible fishing practices that protect its ecosystem. This aligns with DTB’s responsible banking and sustainability efforts,” Devji added.
The function, which will run from February 27th to 29th, saw the lender sponsor the event to the tune of Sh3 million.
“This conference aims to showcase the opportunities in Homa Bay county, attract investors and create jobs for the youth in this county. We are happy to have like-minded partners like DTB on board to enhance our efforts,” Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga stated.
