Kisii Gospel musician Embarambamba has opened up about living in dire poverty.
Speaking to Oga Obinna's YouTube channel, the singer alleged his kind and giving heart has left him without a proper pit latrine.
To show how dire the situation was, he explained how his daughter had recently fallen into a pit latrine only for her to be saved by her siblings.
"The reason I don't have a toilet is because of this. If you call me for a fundraiser, I will come It is true, I don't have a toilet.I grew up in poverty, mimi nilijua mtu akiwa msanii unakuja kukuwa sawa mpaka nyumbani. Lakini mimi niko na tofauti kidogo tu."
His third born fell into the latrine, and was rescued by an elder sibling.
" Bahati mzuri hiyo choo haikumfunika yote, kuna mtoto akaenda akamsaidia akamvuruta"
At the time, he was in trouble with authorities over his music
"sasa nikaanza kuchanganyikiwa mara naitwa hapa, mara naitwa mtoto nimshugulikie, (I started getting confused because I was being needed all over.)
His struggles saw the local governor donate building materials.
His mother who was living there moved out in favor of her grandchildren.
"She now sleeps in the kitchen where we cook. Mama aliniambia wakati baba yako alinifukuza nilikulea kwa msitu unalala kwa msitu lakini nikikumbuka nataka ulale kwa hii nyumba."
How does he sustain his family?
" I depend on Youtube, if I get Sh 5,000 or Sh 10,000 that is what I take home. I use the same to pay for the kid's school fees. It is what I use on everything."
His plight has never improved
"Mara njaa imetokea, mara stima imepotea tokens zimeisha, mtoto anafukuzwa, mwingine anaanguka kwa choo. Sasa shida inafuata."
He also recalled having fallen into a latrine himself while doing his comical skits."Like father like daughter," he laughed at his incident
