Controversial gospel musician Christopher Mosioma alias Embarambamba has once again stirred controversy with the release of his latest song.

The artiste has been trending after he released a song dubbed 'Nataka Kunyonywa' which has left many calling for his cancellation due to its suggestive undertones.

In the video that has been doing rounds on social media, the artiste expresses his desire for God to cleanse him of his sins in what some people think is vulgar language.

"Nakata kunyonywa, nataka kunyonywa, nataka kunyonywa dhambi zangu. Nahitaji kunyonywa sana sana, nani ataninyonya dhambi zangu. Nahitaji kunyonywa pande zote, natakaka kunyonywa dhambi zangu. Ni mungu ataninyonya dhambi zangu. Mungu ni kila kitu, atanyonya dhambi zako," Embarambamba is heard singing.

In a previous interview, the singer clarified that his unconventional antics and undertones are deliberately designed to captivate and engage audiences with his content.

“You know nowadays; artistes must have unique ways of attracting audiences. People must see something different in you. You must know how to attract people to know your songs. You need to start with a message that is different from other musicians. Then you release the rest of the message later. That is why I am different,” he said adding that some people misunderstand his songs.

“You can for example start by saying oihh, aihhh…amenidunga amenidunga (he has injected me, he has injected me), then later say ‘Jesus has injected me with a jab’. If you start by singing that ‘Injili imesimama (the Gospel is strong)’, no one will watch or listen. But when you start with ‘imeamka, mama nimeskia joto joto (it is standing strong, mother I am feeling the heat)’, people will be attracted," he added.

In 2021, a video of Embarambamba dancing with a lady suggestively went viral and created abuzz online with moral police questioning the gospel artiste's moral standards.

Ezekiel Mutua, a former Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), was one of the people who came out to condemn the artiste for gross misconduct and warned the musician that he was courting trouble with the law.
