Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has chewed out Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary (CS) Kipchumba Murkomen over the recent blackout witnessed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on the evening of Sunday, December 10, 2023.
The outage which marks the third within three months was experienced nationwide and affected the country's key infrastructures such as JKIA among others.
In a video, Cherargei called out the CS claiming that he was clueless about his job and that he was manipulating the country with non-sensical excuses.
While claiming that the CS is incompetent, Cherargei also poked holes into Murkomen's tactics in resolving the matter saying that the formulation of committees is a daft idea.
He further demanded that the CS apologise to the country for misinforming them.
"A few months ago Murkomen went to JKIA fired individuals and told the country that generators had been fixed but yesterday it was a disaster. How can you lose electricity and a generator as a critical national asset? I think the minister must apologise to the country for lying to Kenyans that the generators were working when they knew very well they were not working.
