Ugandan-born, South-African Socialite, Zari Hassan, recently landed in Kenya and we at Mpasho were able to snag a quick exclusive interview with her.
During the interview she spoke about everything ranging from the drama in the recently aired season 3 of 'Young, Famous & African', her wedding with Shakib Cham to initiating her sons into the family business.
Zari Hassan who is currently in town for the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Launch, spoke highly of the mobile brand's innovation and the convenience of their products.
She went on to narrate her experience shooting the third instalment in the drama series, YFA, stating that it was "nice and depressing at the same time".
On being asked her sentiments about her wedding that aired on the show, Zari stated that it was the wedding she had always dreamt of as everyone she loves was present from her husband, kids, sisters, dad to her in-laws.
"That's all I need. I didn't need like something big. For me it was about who was there and that was it."
She however remained tight-lipped on just how much she was paid by Netflix for the rights to her wedding, saying that they had to sign a no-disclosure agreement.
Zari went on to refute claims that she was inspired by her co-star, Annie Idibia's wedding, terming her as being 'delulu' (delusional).
It should be noted that the two did not quite see eye to eye in the show and had quite a number of vicious altercations.
In response to Diamond's statements in the show that he "could have her back in the snap of the finger if he wanted to," Zari asserted that he only said that to spite her current husband, Shakib Cham.
"Diamond is another gaslighter. I think we have all seen what Diamond did in the show and he has to say words or things like this to get to Shakib because Shakib at this point is winning- he married the mother of your kids and it stings."
She also weighed in on Diamond and Zuchu's relationship in regards to the 'embarrassment' he puts her through, saying that she would 'die' and be depressed if she were in her shoes.
She was however quick to add that her relationship with Zuchu is very cordial and that the 'Sukari' singer even spends time with her kids whenever they go to see their dad back home in Tanzania.
Regarding which Kenyan celebrity she thinks could feature in the next season of YFA, Zari thinks Akothee and Vera would do well as they've got the 'vibes' needed for the show.
Her favourite star on the show was Kayleigh and worst is Fantana, who is dating her ex, Diamond, in the show, reason being "she's too dense" for not seeing the red flags in their relationship.
