If you are not a supportive and understanding girlfriend or wife, your man will leave you when he makes money. That is YY Comedian's opinion in a YouTube video with his wife Marya Okoth.

The two were discussing a topic many Kenyans get heavily engaged in, with girls advising that you shouldn't date a broke man because he dumps you when he becomes rich.

YY dug in saying, "Men don’t forget supportive women, the problem is dating people who don’t want to be with you, you fail to see the signs, invest all your emotions and finances then call all men ungrateful…Choices lady!!! Just because uliibiwa kwa chama doesn't mean banks are thieves…"

The matter was also raised by TikToker Lydia Wanjiru in a video about dating jobless men. She said no woman should stand by a jobless man.

"For the sake of your sanity, never date a jobless man. When he starts making money, he will leave. Ataenda, to a woman he can now sustain on that season because he is with you because there is no other woman who can take him."

She added that you won't be the woman to enjoy the fruits of his hard work even though you were patient with him

"You are the one who can buy him food, to pay his rent, to pay his bills, You know sustain him. When things get good he will leave, aki ataenda," she said.

Lydia continued to warn girls that these men hurt women the most because they settled. "You settled for him and now he is leaving."
